Ok so I've been looking into putting some suspension bracing on my truck to add some stability/rigidity. I have access to all the materials to do it but not a great idea on how to brace it. So far I've come up with an 'X' going from the right to left frame rails in the center of the truck. Besides that any ideas?
what are your suspension goals? making the frame stiff will only get you so far....... suspension is gonna make up the other half of your rigidity. from what i can tell, there is a massive gap where the motor and tranny sit.... mostly the front end portion.
Goals are I want the frame to not move at all almost suspension upgrades are gonna happen but I wanna make sure my frame is good first Just weighing my options.
Yup I know all that already #1 im not gonnabe putting tons of weight or jumps with it so I know ill be fine. Im just lookin for ideas on how to brace it
Bracing mostly for my rear link setup, to keep the cross member rigid since it will see a lot of force, not necessarily to stiffen the chassis under the cab (this is your least flex worry area)... Your biggest flex points will be right in front of and behind the cab/firewall. The area between here and where the suspension load is concentrated is the most loaded part of your frame, and generally where most of your flex comes from.
