Supra front A-arms on pick-up?

    Has anyone ever tried to use the front suspension off the 86.5-92 supra and include the rack and pinion. I think the A-arms are wider but I wouldn't mind having a wider front end cuz I plan on going to supra IRS. Also 7mgte is being built as we speak to swap in

    Really no one!! well I took some measurement this weekend and from what I can see it's all going to work. It ll end up making my truck 4 inches (2" each side) wider plus I ll have the bigger brakes and then I can go to a supra BBK later. It's also gOing to push my wheels forward about 5 inches wilhich will balance the truck Out a little better. And I ll have the rack and pinion steering and coilovers. I'll put the IRS in later when I find another doner car. I'm running 4" fiberglass bedsides already so they'll took up nicely.

    Has anyone even looked at this before?

    pushing 5'' forward on the front seems like its would cause problems with tire clearance in the wheel well on turns and its going to make it look kind of awkward in the fender.

    I thought about that I'll just fill in the fender well to keep the stock arch there. Every thin else will be delt with as I run into it. It may not be a full 5" move I can pretty much place the A-arms where I want on the frame. But I stll need to tear it down and take more exact measurement and do some fab work

    I'm a dumb newbie here. What is the advantage of going to the Supra suspension? Is it just for the bigger brakes and longer A-Arms? I would think you could go with longer A-arms without re-engeneering the entire front end of the truck. And if its bigger brakes, there are kits and adapters out there for that to run larger brakes. I'm not knocking what you are doing, by any means, I'm just trying to understand the advantages of a swap like this.

    NO they aren't. I sold my 89 supra after I got everything off it I needed for the motor swap for only $400.

    It's more of a cool factor then anything else I guess and I have the parts to play with right there. It does make the track width wider and I can use the rack and pinion steering that's comes with it. I'm already in the process of doing a built 7mgte swap so to keep with the theme I thought was a cool idea. Also the supra world has alot more aftermarket backing as far as suspension goes like coil over sets and such. I'll be swapping in the supra IRS eventually too.

    I'm also kinda putting my fab skills to the test because eventually I want to build an AWD pickup.

    Just clarify from one of my earlier post abOut the front A arms being pushed forward and being able to fill in the empty space. There was a episode of TRUCKS where they did it with a ranger project where the extended the fender coming off the fire wall.
