I am trying to put a universal wiring harness on my toyota stout, and i cannot figure out how to wire the alternator/voltage reg.

I have deduced that the voltage regulator is a VR101 which seems to mostly be on MOPAR cars.. not sure if it is meant to be there. Anyway, i want to get her running and i cant figure out where to begin with this voltage reg.

the reg has two terminals only, totally mechanical.

The alternator has a three prong connector like this: | _ |
With the bottom perpendicular prong being slightly bigger gauge wire.
There is also a thick white with red stripe wire on the alternator.. which i thought was the charging lead.

I will get some pictures if necessary but the reg looks almost identical to this:
    VOLTAGE REGULATOR CHRYSLER DODGE PLYMOUTH 1969 1968 1967 1966 1965 1964-1960 NEW | eBay

I would be open to popping an electronic regulator in there but from what i have seen there are even more wires and im not even sure what to do with the two terminals i have! Sorry im a bit of a wiring newb so bear with me!
