So I just recently replaced all of my shocks with new stock length gas shocks. I had a rear mount break so I had to replace them all. They were really worn out. So I still wanna drop my truck with a torsion rekey and 4" blocks. Will my new stock shocks still be ok or will I have to get drop shocks?

Not sure about the torsion rekey, but you can run stock length shocks with blocks since the mounting points of the shock doesn't change therefore not changing the shock length.

Torsion drop in the front would require new shorter shocks...

You can run stock length, but they wont perform their best and will wear out premature.

I'm running stock length with a 2" tosion drop.... it works. But they're lifetime shocks from autozone, so I don't care, lol.

That's what I figured on the torsions. Basic rule is anytime your lowering method reduces the distance between the upper and lower shock mount you will need shorter shocks.

I did my front with LCA, BJ flip, and spindles. Never changing the distance between upper and lower mount. I did do lower leaf springs in the rear, but with the shocks being at an angle they did not reduce in length by the same amount as the drop so I left the stock length ones on there.

So then dropping it with drop spindles would keep the same shock distance as the stock spindles?

    That is correct.

Same goes for drop lower control arms. They're just remade parts, that move the hub closer to your fender, without changing stock torsion bar tension.

Basically, you could run what Gr8kornHolio has in the front and get 6" of drop while using stock shocks...

That's nice cuz I just spent over 100 bones on new shocks. So I'll just keep things straight and get drop spindles.

got any pics of that 67 C10 in your siq? I had a 72 with a 383 stroker in it for a couple of years. Gas gas gas. Had to let it go.

Quite the project. I've had it for over 8 years and never put any money into it cuz I was a dumb high school kid. But I've just started to tinker with it and hope to get it licensed this summer. I love classic vehicles. And of cores my TOY! Here it is......

That's awesome, love those trucks. Course I also like the early 60's and the 55/56 too. Maybe someday when I don't have to drive it I'll build another hot rod.

It will definitely be daily driven. I hate garage queens! Any classic is meant to be driven. If they have lasted this long why not another 40+ years.

When you the lca, flip and spindles, did you have any alignment issues?

Shouldn't ... the bolt on lowering parts up front (lca and spindles) only relocate the wheel closer to your fender, without affecting the stock geometry of the suspension.

An alignment is always recommended afterwards tho.
