ok , i got the timeing chain done , new oil pump, water pump. truck ran great for 1 week but it started to do the same thing am driven lets say 60 i try to stay at 60 and truck jerks but if i step on gas or let off its fine. it only does it when i try to keep it at a certin speed. spark plug and wires are about 4 months old. both NGKs!!! fuel filter about 5 to 6 months and when truck was acting up before timeing chain was done i did used a cupel of s.t.ps. so it says to clean injectors!!! can that get fuel filter clogged? plus i was thinking to remove injectors from 22re, so i can get them cleaned?:brickknock::shrug:but dont know how to remove them

    Remove upper manifold...
Then remove the bolts holding the fuel rail. and hopefully you've depressurized the system first.
Pull off rail and the injectors. good luck

Before you take the truck all apart I would take a look at your TPS. Sounds like someone put there hand on it while all the work was being done and knocked it out of spec. If the TPS was pushed down and out of spec you would have this problem.

+1 on the TPS..I had taken my throttle body off to clean all the black gunk on it..I took it to work and put it in a parts washer...bad idea!! i fried the TPS and didn't know it..I put it all back together and drove it and did exactly what your talking about..jerking,no throttle response etc..If you have a manual it tells you how to test it with a multimeter...

if your going to take the injectors out and get them cleaned you must depressurize the system first...unplug the fuel pump from above the gas tank and turn the truck over a couple times..that will depressurize it..GL

all efi have the elec. fuel pump. TPS= Throttle Position Sensor. its located on the right hand side of the throttle body.

if anything, just make sure its set dead center of the adjustment..... most usually span about center anyways. you adjust it by loosening the screws that hold it and rotate it...... almost the same way you adjust your timing on the distributor. :waytogo:
