stereo help

    .. alright.. i went to put my CD player in my pickup and the power cord plug fell apart when i unplugged it from the craptastic tape deck in there.. .. .. from looking at it, it doesnt seem that i'll be able to splice it back together

    thoughts on this??

    will i need to replace the whole cord??

    the pic you attached is your radio antenna go to a junk yard and and get a new antenna cable and replace it. not that hard to do

    no it wouldnt, check and make sure u have power from the red wire (constant powere, ignition on or off) and the yellow(?)(ignition on) and yeah just go to junk yard and get another antenna. hope this helps. also if ur just replacing the deck and not rewiring new speaker wires get the adpater for ur stock wiring, makes things alot easier ( that is if ur wires arnt fried, like mine were).

    If the only ground to the radio was through the antenna cable, it will make the radio not work correctly. Make sure that it has an adequate ground.....

    yea, i bought the wiring adapter.. but, the person who installed the other radio hacked off teh plug and wired it straight into the factory harness.. i'm gonna go back and check all the wires again tomorrow

    hmm..what yr truck is your truck? as log as u have the power wires and a ground ur good, to tell what color ur speakers are just look for the ones that have the same color, with one having a black on it[purple and a purple with black]. if u can take a pic of ur wires and i can go from there...

    its a 91... and i have the factory wiring schematics so matching the wires to the correct ones isnt a problem

    the red is ignition and the yellow is the constant power.

    ive always found that just replacing an entire wire is the best bet
    because when u start to rig and splice wires
    u have the possibility of problems down the road
