Hey guys, I am new here and just bought a 94 std cab 2wd for my son and I to fix up for him when he turns 16. I have a few questions that i will throw your guys way and get some input from the real ones whose opinions matter. So, first off, what is the name of the plastic surround behind the steering wheel on the column. I think the plastic piece below it is called the bolster? Anyways the one on this truck is broken and I need to find a replacement part. Any ideas on where to find one? Also we want to do a small but good stereo system in this truck too. Anyone know if we can fit speakers in the doors? Any ideas for a standard cab pickup system would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your responses!!!!

Not sure anyone here knows what to call it to be honest with ya!

I always just refer to it as the plastic shroud for the steering column

I've always referred to it as a clamshell or steering column cover. Someone on here probably has an extra one. What color and does the truck have tilt wheel?

Putting speakers in the doors of these trucks can be tricky because of the window track. Unless the truck has wing windows, you will either need to run a very shallow speaker, build a a speaker pod to move the speaker outwards from the door, or both.

The people on this sight can be very helpful, but sometimes it just takes a little bit to get a response.

In the Toyota parts catalog, they refer to this part as the "housing" for the steering column.
