According to my research the steering stabilizer is the horizontally mounted shock up front under the engine bay. This is something i want to replace because my truck currently has excessive play in the steering, kickback, and it wanders. Please correct me if this horizontal shock isn't the steering stabilizer. But if it is the steering stabilizer, does anyone know if there are replacement aftermarket applications for this? Just wondering because I took a look at mine and it looks like I may need to get a replacement from the dealer because of the way it's mounted.
sorry to tell you but thats not why your steering is like that, you need to replace probably all the components down there and that is the last thing to change, idler arm, and center drag link are the major 2 parts to replace... ebay has all these parts for around 100 bucks, trust me its worth its weight in gold
right on, looks like i got yet another fun day of sweatin under my truck. haha. by any chance the previous owner cranked the torsions so i was hopefully wondering if there is a quick fix to my prob? again thanks
Tramlining I'm having some tramlining issues with the truck. Can anyone make any recommendations on how to fix this? Should I: 1. replace center link 2. replace idler arm 3. upgrade steering dampner 4. ??????? Need some input. I'm running 225/45R17 up front on 17x9" 0 ET
For the steering dampner. The shock that has a bolt on one end and a ball joint on the other. It sits under the engine directly centered.
