newbie here needs suggestions on a static drop. :D
I have a 94 2wd Yota with some 18's 225 40. Eventually Im probably gonna get 17's. I wanna do a 4 inch DJM static drop in the rear with torsion and ball joint in the front. Will my tires rub? Should I go with a 3inch instead?

here is a 94 dumped at a 7/6 stance...... he is running 18x8 fronts and 18x8.5 rears on 225/40's he rubs minimally up front but very seldom now. you should be fine with less drop.

with a less drop do you mean i should be fine going with 3 inches? Im thinking bout getting the DJM's on ebay. How are the ones from pep boys? Theyre both aluminum so does the DJM brand make any difference?

You're talkin about DJM blocks? I have some 3" blocks and I'm pretty sure they are DJM. I've abused them and they aren't showing any signs of wear. They are aluminium.
The DJM lower control arms are pretty good too imo.
Beefed Taco makes 4" angled steel blocks I think. Not sure if he is on here but I know he is on customtacos.com
Sometimes the bolts underneath for the power steering reservoir will rub. It is usually easy to figure out what is rubbing and easy to trim it (or hit it with a big a** hammer).
If you want some good stiff shocks for the front I recommend a pair of '69 Camaro Gas-a-justs. You will have to drill out the lower holes on the shocks but they are decent.

with less drop you should be fine.... yes.

djm are over priced in my opinion for the same basic quality you get at pep boys or wherever else...... if you want some good blocks worth the money get them from beefed taco :waytogo:

the only real time these blocks are heavily stressed is when you articulate the rear suspension. when the suspension tops out the leafs try to arch in their natural spring form...... blocks are bolted to the leafs at the very center and will try to prevent this motion and if fatigued hard many times over time they are known to crack from the forces trying to bend right at the edges..... beefs blocks are steel so will likely never break :waytogo:

I think imma do the same. When I get the funds I will hit up Beefed Taco for a notch. For now imma just slam it. Still waiting on Beefed Taco's reply.
