most of the people on this forum own a 13 year old or older truck and im assuming a lot of people have squeeky clutches. i just realized today before i started my truck the squeeky noise it makes. i followed the sound with a friend and found out the origin is or is near the clutch slave. is there any way to stop this squeek non invasively(opening the trans to grease it)?
squeakyness . . . Old Toyota minis with squeaks " Now way " ! J.K. ! Everytime I find one I use silicon lube to grease her up, especially the door hinges, I find WD40 to be justa quick fix & a better parts cleaner than lube. As for you specific application or inquiry, I havent experienced that yet ! Keep us posted ! L o w N l o u d
well i cant find the exact source but when my friend presses the clutch i can feel the slave vibrating a little. i dont know how to stop the sound!! it sounds like its away from my reach... inside the trans ahhh...
I'm not sure about these trucks but I put a clutch in a dump truck a few weeks ago and there was grease fitting on the throwout bearing. Check your and see if theres one on it. My buddy was having the same problem on his mustang and i sprayed some penetrating oil on the throwout bearing and it stopped but I would definately use some kind of lube that will last longer, like LowNLoud said WD40 is good for temporary fixes but usually doesn't last long.
where is the throwout bearing?? what does the grease fitting look like?? yaa grease is always better than wd40.. its getting it to the right place thats the problem
the throwout bearing is around the shaft that comes out of the transmission. And a grease fitting looks like a pointed little nipple but the top is flat. They're on you're balljoint and bushings too. If you've never greased them either then it's probably a good idea to grease everything while you're at it.
