Thats a pretty nasty little truck, but i'd go over it soo closely with that price tag on it. Hope it works out for you though because thats a hell of a deal.

for that price tag, thats how much I could buy one that doesnt even run in worse shape...by looking at the pics its obviously worth the money, but to be worth anything to me it needs to be built right..

Lifted diesels are retarded......they are completely and totally useless. I hate all the guys around town that think lifted diesels are the **** but they can't tow anything without a 2' drop hitch, can't offroad, get kinda crappy gas mileage, cost a hell of a lot to operate and overall signify the owner has a little man complex.

V8, I hope you get it. That looks like a badass truck! A good buddy of mine would give his left nut for one of those, he's a big Nissan guy. His current ride his a '97 Hardbody ext. cab.

thanks for your opinion, heres mine. Ready for a long one guys ?

Lowered minis are retarded...... they are completley and totally useless. I hate all the guys around town that think lowered minis are the **** but they cant tow anything with a hitch, cant offroad, get kinda crappy gas mileage, cost a hell of a lot to operate and overall signify the owner has a little man complex.

sound familiar ? yes I love my truck, yes it is TOTALLY useless, I can only fit 1 person in my cab, any more my tires rub. the bed is pretty useless since its painted, and any weight will kill the rest of my ride and tires. Its slow. 20mpg isnt that great for a 4 banger oh wait... actually it gets 0mpg since it doesnt even move.... But then again its fun to drive I think it looks good and thats all the matters right ?

If your worrying about other men with "a little man complex", you must be lacking in your own-self to be judging another mans life by his choice in vehicle.

Dont hate on a persons car or truck. People who buy lifted diesels ususally use them for work, offroading, or just because they HAVE money and they CAN do that. Whats wrong with a 2 foot drop hitch ? it will still rip your mini across the country and back, I wish my mini could tow 20,000 pounds off the bumper... who cares about gas mileage ? obviously they dont if they have the truck and drive it, may not like it but its not stoping them. cant offroad ? are you serious ? not going to go into great details on whats better offroad but it sure as hell aint my yota or yours !

sorry for the long rant, but I started this thread and im aloud to hi-jack at my own leisure. Also 93yoter, dont think I hate you but I just wanted to throw some more opinions down your way. Im not mad, well I was for about 10 seconds but its over.

I never said lowered minis are useful, I also never said that they make good daily drivers......

Moving is definately easier in a 2wd mini than a lifted fullsize

My truck gets over 30mpg and is decently quick (but definately not fast...yet)

Where the heck do you get all your money from? almost $5 a gal for diesel this summer! Insurance is more, maintenence is more etc etc..... what are you going to tow around? Stock diesels tow better than the lifted ones by the way.

big full size diesels are not very good offroad, they sink in mud, are too big for trails, too long for rocks etc etc. There's a reason most lifted are confined to the street and towing plus the big three diesels from everyone I've talked to (I've talked to alot of full size diesel owners) say they break off road. They are heavy and big there's no way around it.

Not trying to be a dick but that's the reality but who cares you are probally still in highschool and have your opinions set pretty much in stone and won't listen to reality till it bites you in the ass lol. Its ok though most people have to go through that till they figure out what they want from life.

A really good idea is to get a reliable unmodded (minus stereo, wheels etc) vehicle that gets 30mpg+ and is cheap to operate for a daily driver. Then figure out what project vehicle you want (mini, offroad truck, autocross, muscle car, show diesel :), drag race, restomod, etc) get one and tear into it. I did that with a supra figured out quickly sports cars aren't my true calling and sold it quickly upon completion to concentrate on my 93' again. I learned a hell of a lot on that car though to the point where I'm not afraid to tackle any car related project myself except for setting up a rear end. There's nothing like tackling a big project to gain experiance and knowledge.

I also sold my dd sentra for a 4runner since it suited my outdoors lifestyle more and since I don't have to drive nearly as much as I did before I about break even for gas each month compared to the sentra.

Just trying to helpful take it for what it is

Didn't want to quote everything you said above but just wanted to say it was very well put!! I agree 100%. I'll give you another little example. I'm older than most on this site I would think, and have been brought up around muscle cars. At first when tuner cars started coming out I thought they were kinda useless too. I always thought that a true race car was a muscle car not a tuner. Well tuners have come a long way and have changed my opinion on that matter. Although I may still prefer a muscle car over a tuner, I still can appreciate all the work that guys do to make their tuners fast and I give props for that.

I know you didnt say they were useful, but I just had to point out they are as useless as a diesel is. It all depends on what you want/need.

diesel is just above 3.30 a gallon here.. not too expensive unless you drive 100 miles a day. gas prices will not change my mind on what I want to drive until it hits at least 10 bucks a gallon, then I will consider riding my bike a little more often or going less places.

Just because someone wants a lifted diesel does not mean they have to use it for offroading, he could have 40inch boggers just for asthetics(sp?). Nothing wrong with it... If you can afford it, why the hell not ? who cares if it is costing you $10 or $100,000 a day to drive as long as you got it...

thats cool you get 30mpg, I wish mine got 30mpg once in a while.... mine is also slow as balls...if I wanted a gas sipper, Id drive a metro, and if I wanted something fast Id drive a z06...

what maintenence ? ya diesels cost more to fix but how many times will it break down given you only drive it the average 12,000 a year... my father had 3 diesels that I can remember, all fords and other then oil changes it was fine. Mind you im talking brand spanking new trucks, not some ragged out work truck. Which brings me to my next point, if you got the money - who cares ???

towing...yeah a stock diesel will out tow a diesel on 40''s. But if you got the truck to tow, you obviously are not going to mod it in such a way that it will cripple your ability to do what you need done.

Insurence is more ? where the hell did you get that ? my insurence cut in half when I switched from an 04 sentra to an 05 titan. once again, got the money... who caresssss???

Now go ahead, tell me Im just a rich spoiled brat... Wrong! If I were I would be in my 2008 lifted ford f-250 king ranch with about 100 grand sunk in it... but my mom is a single mom 3 kids, 1 job, zero child support. Luckily she makes enough money for us to live, and then some.

Last but not least, the age comment. you are only a few years older then me, other then maybe living on your own for a few years you dont have much on me. As for having my mind set on things, I change my mind every day....yeah I live for me and noone will ever change my mind for me but my mind does change quite often....

this is fun, keep em coming man... but lets not get to serious, its all fun and games right ?

Your right I only have been working (getting a real paycheck) since I was 13, I go to school full time, work full time in the summer, work part time during the school year. I also have paid my own way for everything since I started college in 2004, while having a sucessful long term relationship that until recently was also long distance, a dog, getting hospitalized for a full month with an unknown/discovered virus and almost dying, and a slew of other responsibilites.

I wish my parents were able to help me more and don't look down on those that have parents that can help them.

I've got more than a few years on you and people my own age man....

anyways I'm done good luck with whatever you do and post it up

    my turn to rant

Have you ever driven a giant lifted diesel? I work in newport beach ca (aka the o.c) where people have more money then brains. I drive atleast 1 lifted big ass diesel truck a week.. I hate driving them, especially on the freeway. I personally think that you are seriously dumb to own a truck like that IN A CITY. If you live in bumfuk egypt with dirt roads , have money to burn or better yet your own gas station, then go for it.

here are the reasons I personally would never own a lifted diesel

    1) You won't fit in normal parking spaces, and just forget about the parking garage... probably not a big deal if you live in a rural area

    2) You need to swipe your card twice to fill your tank completely. (most gas stations have a card limit of $75, that also means 2 finance charges for every time you need a full tank) I hear grown men whine and cry about this.

    3) You will break things, tie rods, u joints, transmissions, etc. Kiss your warranty good bye and if you run a programmer (RBP, Edge, banks etc..) you will shorten your engine/turbos life significantly

    4) If you sell it with the price of gas and surplus of big ass trucks, you will never get top dollar no matter how clean and maintained it is

    5)
You cant have a diesel Toyota unless you build it.

I see that you are parked in dirt in your picture so it might be useful for your needs. I on the other hand work in a beach city where parallel parking is mandatory for miles . I don't mean to come off as a dick talking smack but I see losers in their lifted f-550s trying to parallel park and I think to myself "your a douchebag."

My point is you can very realistically be driving a newish porsche for the same money

. . . I say drive what you want, what fits you, how you want, when you want and who the hell cares what anyone else thinks. You dont buy something OR build something for someone else, you buy it for you, for reasons only known to you and a great majority of the time you will find someone just waiting to pounce on you for it. I love my Toyotas, drive them everyday & could really care less what anyone else thinks cause it fits my needs and does what I want it to do. P.s. I DRIVE a LOWERED Toyota & a STOCK Toyota !
