hey im just wondering i have a gasket set for 85+ 22re does anyone one if it will work on 82- dualrow chain

 

I would cross reference some of the gaskets online (autozone, or schucks website). I would worry about head gasket and timing cover gasket(s), but there could be more differences, as I haven't had to rebuild an engine, yet.

 

yes and no.


only real difference is the timing chain cover gaskets, and possibly the water pump gasket. the timing cover is taller on new motor.


but always check to make sure no holes are covered.

 

To my knowledge the double row chain is not a stock item( LC ) has them. My Pro Street EFI came with it!
Call them for info. They are the best people with the most knowledge of Toyota engines!

 

the dual row chain is indeed a stock item

up to '83 thats what they came with stock.

in '83 toyota decided to start using the single chain as it was cheaper/lighter and would require periodic service($$$), where the dual row chain/metal guides was known to last over 400k.


no laser block ever came with a dual chain.

LC makes a custom dual row chain for laser blocks, that is not a stock item
