    Hey guys,

Just wanted to share with you all that I started taking a welding class over at our local community college a few weeks ago. I am going for a 1 year certification. I am doing this because I want to be able to work on my own truck and start a new line of work. I am really enjoying it so far. The class is mainly focused on arc welding and let me tell you its tough, there are so many factors to get a nice bead, but I am getting there. My instructor does it perfect and I am trying to copy his technique, but its tough, amps, angle, travel speed, it's all got to flow together at once for perfection, its simply practice x100

A big part of the cert can either be arc or mig, I am going for the mig side as I figure thats what I will mainly be using. The instructors say arc prepares you for mig and tig, got to get the basics down.

I just watched this excellent video on mig welding and thought I would share it with everyone.

Just thought I'd share my good news.

when i would give weld tests to potential hire i always started with arc. if they couldn't do it then they weren't employed.

mig and tig have their place in the industry but having strong arc welding skills will land you a job way quicker.

    congrats on taking the courses!
