I am 49 and have always been a huge fan of the classic Toyota 4x4 solid front axel trucks, however I was unable to afford them back in the 1980's and I am now looking to buy what was once out of reach. If I have it right, Toyota went to an IFS front axel in 1986, and am now looking to purchase a classic 1985 Toyota Extra Cab 4x4 somewhere in the South Western US if possible.

I would be very appreciative of any leads or referals from anyone on where to look for one. I saw a beauty today, here in San Diego on this rainy Friday that looked incredibly nice on Route 8 heading West.

My guess is that I will need to randomly "tag' trucks I find in parking lots to see if the owners are willing to part with them.

Yea, dream on. Please don't let the F-350 fool anyone on my intentions. I love classic Toyotas.
