My brother showed me this clip on youtube of some guys making a cold air intake out of pvc piping i think 3" to be exact size . I know it wont add on no damn 10hp but will it be better than the stock bs ? What does the cold air intake add on hp anyways ?? For a RE motor

A cold air system must draw air from outside the engine bay!!

Yea i get that the stock itself can be a cold air intake but you know how we are,we all want that cool looking piping and etc. or at least i do. Will it give better throttle response at all or any thing . I might try this out if i can find some pvc or aluminum piping somewhere .just wondering

Pepboys has piping & use a K&N air filter!
I have posted what I built a few times, two draw points , a closed box with a reverse cone K&N filter!
Works great & passes the Ca. visual @ smog check!!

he's got several pics of his cold air setup. one of the best ones i've seen on the internet. also involves a battery/intake swap IIRC, which is the way I'd personally go about this. Never understood why Toyota crosses over the radiator with the original layout, to me this would heat up the air.

Thats what i was planning on doing the batt n intake swap because i do go a distance for a daily and it gets about in the 90s out here during the day so i want to move the piping away from the radiator . Was also thinking about cutting a hole in the hood to make the air filter stick out like a sore thumb . I mean itll look pretty ok if you imagine how it looks, but then again it does rain like crazy over here . So that might not cross my mind again
