Hey guys, I've got some exciting news, I worked out a deal with Steve @ Cando Customs and he made me a one off pair of Upper and Lower control arms for the truck 79-83 with the advice from Bob @ Grant Kustoms, which ToyBlazer was an 82 Toyota. I am so thankful to my wife and son for getting them for me and Steve for making them and can't wait to get them installed. We had a hard snow storm hit here so the truck is resting in the garage and will continue too, until this mess clears up. I also got a few other small things to report and heres the pictures: 1. New personalized plate with chrome plate and light 2. Small painted interior pieces (talked about it before but never put up any pics, nothing major but I like it, metal parts of interior, glove box ect will be painted to match the truck 3.1987 Chrome 1 piece bumper with new turn signal lights (in box, from parts channel.com) Got new clear parking light lenses Original # IKI's from the dealer $10 each but forgot to take a pic 4. Finally the control arms my son is so proudly displaying, he loves the truck, calls it his monster truck, his name is Aidan and he's 5. Let me know what you all think.
Man congratulations! Let me know if possible how much those one off control arms costs. I would love to be slammed more in the front and those control arms look very sexy!
The control arms from Cando for 84-88 are $759.99. The deal Steve made with me was he would make me a set for 79-83 for an extra $100 in shop time (since he did not make them on a regular basis) and $45 for S/H makng the total $904.99. Steve's # at Cando Specialties 1-530-533-8680. He's a really cool guy, great customer service. Thanks for the compliments everyone, I hope I get a feature some day. I talked to my installer yesterday and I am going to get them installed along with the other small things just as soon as this mess clears up but the truck is going no where with the roads in this condition. The arms are going to be painted a gloss black. I know there are some tiny spots on some interior pieces that I need to touch up, going to take a tiny brush to them, thought I would mention that before someone else chewed me out for missing those spots
nice! so are these set up to use the stock spindle, or are they shortened to allow the 84-88 spindle and still lay out?
Thanks a-lot, I really appreciate it. Steve made them 3/4" shorter than the 84-88 arms to allow the 84-88 spindle which is on the truck to work and still lay out I can't wait to get them installed!
