I want to smooth and paint my dashboard but it is covered with a soft plastic surface. Do I remove this so that I get back to solid plastic or does this soft plastic remain & get fiberglassed over the top then painted.

You can sand it down then paint it, but people say it takes forever and a lot of sanding.

You can also just fiberglass right over it.

Whichever way you feel like sanding.
