Ok so I have my f150 forsale on cl an i got an email asking if I still had it I said yes I do then this guy replied with this. To me it sounds a little sketchy an a scam. But isn't paypal secure?? Can i trust you,i'm a am a boatswain at sea and could you please provide me with recent pictures including this item so i can see the condition before we proceed and i want to be the best offer by adding $100 to your money then keep other offers off? Also,i'll be paying you from my paypal account, so if you are still okay in selling it off to me, kindly get back to me with your full paypal email id so i can send the money as soon as i have your paypal info. and i will need you to give me your paypal email address so i can make the payment asap for the item and if you don't have paypal account yet, it is very easy to set up, go to http://www.paypal.com and get it set up.. looking forward to your response. Many thanks Mattew
that sounds like a scam but how is it a scam if he pays through paypal ? my only guess is he will email you a fake email from "paypal" to make it look like he sent the money.
Yah but he could always check to see if the money was actually in his account. I say if he is at sea then what good is a truck he doesnt have. Ask him who he works for and then research to see if its a legit company. I usually tell them when they send emails like this a reverse scam. I am actually in europe on a hiking trip and the truck is in the USA so my attorney will handle the title paperwork as soon as he has cash in hand. I will then ship it through a 3rd party carrier which may take up to 10 weeks. They usually dont respond, they may just be fishing for info as well.
scam indeed. and "item" is the bait word. yeah, send him gay porn, i wanna see how this scam off ends up hahahahahhaa
You know after everything and reading the email again I bet they were hoping you were gonna be stupid enough to setup a paypal account. I bet its a fake link and when you type in all the info now they have an open door to your bank account. I get tons of emails from Ebay like this and if you open them up and expand the headers you see its not actually sent by ebay.
in speaking to my son... this has happen to him with a phone he was selling on CL. They offered him an additional 50 bucks over what he wanted.
Im selling my Nissan and I recieved this email. I laughed cuz i knew it was a scam. "Hi thanks am glad to read from you ,will appreciate more pictures. i am a marine engineer and my permanent residence is in Pacific Junction, Iowa, i am at sea right now. I am buying this for my twin sister as a surprise promise Gift so am willing to offer you the amount you required. I can only pay through PayPal at the moment as i don't have access to my bank account online (i don't have internet banking with it), but i have it attached to my PayPal account, and this is why i insisted on using PayPal to pay,all i will need is your PayPal email address to make the payments, and if you don't have a PayPal account yet, you can set one up at ww.paypal.com it cant take you less than 3mins to do that, i will be expecting your PayPal email so l can pay and also get back to me with your best price on this. I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted. l will be waiting for your reply asap Regards. Amanda."
I thought about tht but I wasn't 100% positive it was a scam plus i was half asleep when I read it. O well though
Shoulda made another papal not linked to your account and see if they send money. Then send em gay porn.
