not sure why toyota done this but my truck only has the driver side mirror and no passenger side. mine is located on the door. has anyone installed one on the passenger side if so i assume you had to drill holes in your door. is it alot of trouble to do this. any write ups or pictures would be greatly appreciated.

yea, some 2wd trucks came only with 1 mirror. i have a 86 and it only had the driver side mirror. i have a fren with a 89 and his came with only the driver side mirror as well. i drilled holes on my psgr side to put a mirror on. having jus the ds mirror, to me, made my truck look uneven/unbalanced. jus get the proper distance and proper placements b4 u drill the holes.

check out my build thread in the 84-88 section listed as "671 Hilux". i have b4 and after pics, but NO pics of the work process of drilling and installing the psgr side mirror.

u shouldn't have any trouble at all. u got dis!!!

It's pretty easy just take your time. My old stock mirrors had the holes already in them so I just:

    1. held the mirror up to where I wanted it
    2. marked each hole with the end of a permanent marker (sharpee)
3.drilled a pilot hole (used a tiny drill bit)
    4. screwed a self tapping screw into each hole, I used my battery powered drill, if you use an electric drill, be careful and just feather the trigger until the screw sets itself in, the electric drills tend to have more power than the battery ones, at least my duwalt does.
    5. Done

hope this helps and good luck
