Can I run stock shocks in the front if I swap in the mighty max springs? Plan on lowering the whole truck 2" all around. Having trouble finding lower front shocks so I'm just gonna buy new stock replacements. Here is my plan so far: Front -new factory shocks -mighty max springs Rear -new factory shocks -2" lowering blocks I was just worried about the stock shocks failing from the 2" drop.
I'm using stock shocks currently, and I'm lower 3".. I think they are starting to fail though.. I've heard people talking about using '68 or '69 V8 camaro shockssince the are shorter, hopefully someone will chime in that knows forsure. Backs will stay the same because the mount doesn't move.
Technically shorter coils require shorter shocks so they're running in the center of their stroke. 2" drop you'll be ok with a stock length shock, but if you can find a quality shock, like KYB in the shorter measurement you'd be better off. For the rear, you should go quality, like KYB instead of factory. You want firm gas charged shocks, that are hard to push in by hand, because they'll help slow the tire during compression since your tires will be closer to the fenders.
