i have a 79 4x4 pick up, when ever i use low 4x4 in 1st gear and try to shift into 2nd gear in low it kicks the transfer case into neutral, the 2 shifters are contacting each other. do all these old trucks do this?is there a way to fix this problem, perhaps a kit that has different angle shifters or some thing?

 

Do you have the ball on the stick still, we had to take ours off.

Also ours used to pop out in reverse, we used to have to hold it in. What we ended up doing was cutting the stick shorter and that worked good.
