Okay I'm trying to get my shift knob off, I know all u have to do is turn it counter clockwise but it ain't budging a bit any help ?

 

pull and trun, and if its not stock there might b a set screw

 

It's the stocker but Ima big guy and gave it hell lol but still no luck

Lol yeah it's cold as crap outside so Ima wait til tomorrow and and wd40 it with some vice grips and hope it comes off

 

I'm going to hafta take a pipe wrench to my stock one too.

 

Yup you got the right idea squirt some wd40 in there but be careful not to turn it too hard cuz you could actually take out the shift arm too

 

if its really a huge pain and won't come lose, i suggest pulling the shift boot and taking the whole arm itself off. then you can hold it in a vice while you loosen it up. or, swap a new arm on if you really cant save it

 

Who wouldve thought something so pesky would be such a pain

 

I busted mine loose by hand. Sh!t was a pain in the a$$ to get loose.

 

Man I was about ready to say what standardbyker said. This is what I had to do with the one in my 94 pull the arm and put it in a vise. It was liquid welded onto the shaft.

 

I got it off! Took some giant pliers to it and it spun off nicely lol
