Does anyone know how to shave the ugly hooks on the side a 79-83 bed?

See if you can tell how they are attached, I don't remember if they are spot welded on or not, if so, you can use a spot weld remover (an overpriced drill bit designed for spot welds.)

whether you grind them or drill them, it will likely require some welding to close up any holes created.

Cut the with a grinder. The spotwelds are on the inside fo the roll on the bed and impossible to get to. Just cut them and make them look like they are gone.

I managed to knock some off with a 3 lb sledge hammer and the rest I had to use an air chisel and the grinder.
