Okay, I've been long overdue for a build up, but I might as well post what I've already got done.

About 2 yrs. after I got it, typical beat-up 4x4 with the dying-after-2-seconds-in-the-summer vinyl bench.

I removed the eyesore pictured here: toolbox and tow hitch

A cheap tach pair of very beat up *4Runner buckets*

**please note- anyone who wants to do this mod, you do have to drill holes in the floor for the passenger side!

I bought a 2WD chrome grille at the junkyard (still need corners)

Now I will say this... this will be a very slow (more so than a snail) build until I get a better income.

however - due to the cheap aftermarket hood that came on it, I put back on the 4x4 grille to avoid chrome damage from hood closure.

Won't be when I'm done with it! My family thinks I'm wasting money on an abomination, but I think it's worth it.

I'm diging the overall look of your truck. That gray is a sick color. Any pics of you tearing it up in the mud?

Thanks, no off-road pix because this is my daily driver, most of my friends with 4x4s moved and I just quit my job.

I like the gray and the stripes, but I'm not sticking with it, I'm thinking of a Midnight Blue 240Z style paint job, because so many of these guys out here in Elsinore copied the stripes. I've seen some that were factory gray one day, then the next, they had vinyls on the side.

As soon as I get a new job, I'll try to tear some dirt up for you guys!

Does anyone know where I can find a Smittybilt tube front bumper, like the BTTF 4x4? That's the next mod after the new job.

Even though it's not really styled the exact same, this one inspired me...

I've built a couple custom tubular bumpers for the 4x4 yotas. came out sweet. wish I had a few pics to show.

www.Partstrain.com <--- try them, I get body parts there all the time. its mostly oem stuff but worth a peek

Thanks for the link, however, they didn't have it, so it's either craigslist or junkyards if I really want it, but it would be so much easier to get the chrome.

Well, now that I think about it, I took an image of the official BTTF truck to my aunt and uncle's auto parts store, they did say that it wasn't made anymore, but they could place an order for custom. I'd like to do all this stuff, but now being out of work, what can I afford? Geez, even if they're overprotective, at least I'm living with my family.

Okay, change of plans, I got bored and reinstalled my driving lights on my bumper, my 2WD grille, and valance, and I gotta say; "So long Smittybilt, hello Chrome!" I forgot how much I like the look of the OE styling. Sorry that I don't have any pics... dad took my camera with him to work and I don't have pix messaging to email it to myself...

I also had to bend the driver's side front of the hood to avoid grille damage, so if you are still interested in the 4x4 grille FOKAI, let me know.

Nevermind, I got a pic using my dad's ancient (and ridiculously large) digital camera, very poor quality.

Anyway, here's what I am hoping for now...

    I have a question, as I'm kind of indecisive about the paint;

Should I just repaint the two-tone grey or go midnight blue? Either way, I'm chroming this thing out.

One more thing; are there chrome tailgate handles available anywhere for this body style?
