I'll start off by saying that I'm a vertically challenged individual (5'5"). When I put my seatbelt on, the shoulder strap cuts across my neck. Not only is it uncomfortable but I feel it is dangerous. So I looked into what would solve my problem. That's when I found some Jeep adjustable mounts that have covers in grey that clip on after install.

    Here is what I did:

I purchased 97-02 JEEP Wrangler front seat belt adjusters and covers.

Practically everything that I used. I had to get 2 nutserts and 2 nuts (5/16-24) for the bottom part of the adjusters.

Using the OEM Jeep top bolt (it's the same weird thread as our factory bolts) I temporarily mounted the adjuster so I could mark where I needed to drill and install the nutsert.

    Drilled and installed nutsert.

Mounted adjuster using OEM Jeep bolt on top in original hole and 5/16-24 bolt on bottom.

    Cover installed.

Some things need to be done before final install.

Here is the order of how things should be mounted. Keep in mind our factory bolts will need a half inch taken off, otherwise the adjuster won't adjust.

    Finished.

I was thinking about where to find that type of adjuster awhile back since I mounted my supra seats to the floor and having the seat belt rub across my ear wasn't exactly comfortable.

I took the easy way out and used the optional factory mounting hole behind the round sticker at the top of this picture.

It was the perfect height for me and took all of a minute to peal the sticker and move the bolt etc down. :D

Oh cool, but yea I'm short my seats are practically flat mounted and I needed all the help I could get. Plus I thought this was a cool little mod and it was easy.

This is great! especially if you have short friends. Hitting bumps and having that seat belt rub in the chin is no good. I dont need this mod on my side but i will def do it for the passenger side. Thanks for the great pictures of how it is supposed to go together too.

    Nice write up

I'm sure you know this but I thought I should throw this out there. Their is a second lower hole just below the top anchor of the seat belt. It's hidden behind a vinyl sticker. I lowered my seat belts this way since I'm the same height you are. Totally made a difference

Thanks all for the positive remarks.

@macawilial, Yeah WhiteTrash mentioned that to me on post #3. First off, originally I didn't know about the second mount. Thing is I like that it's adjustable. Like I said earlier my seats are bolted rails to the floor. I took out the lift in the front so I kinda needed it a little lower.

All in all it works for me and it covers up all the holes.
