im looking for info on putting a sbf into my 91 reg cab. my mains questions are.. - where can i find the motor mounts? (if available) - will the rear end of our trucks stand up to the power/torque from a relatively stock 302? ok, theres not that many questions lol, but ive searched and couldnt find exact answers. im sure there more info im missing. but yea... any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm sure the motor mounts exist, but I don't know much about it. If not, I would be willing to prototype a set, and build a fixture. I have everything needed to mock it up. The 7.5" axle will very likely hold up to a stock 302. The 8" V6 axles will have a better chance, but either should be fine.
i looked pretty much everywhere for sbf motor mounts for the toyota and couldn't find any but i found a guy that a 302 in his truck and ask how he made his or if he would make me a set and he did they are really beefy mounts and im gonna run my stock rearend with my 302 and mine has a little bit of performance stuff on it but heres a pic of my mounts
Heavy Duty Toyota Motor Mounts, Ford, Chevy, GM Bolt-In Engine Mounts, Transfer Case Alignment Shims, Power Steering Kit, T-Case Mounting Plate
are there any after market headers for this swap? or will mustang specific shorty style headers work ?
