got a 91 short box reg cab... just did 3" block in the back with spindles, bj flip, and spacer plate. i am running 15" rims and the bolt heads for the strut bar( the bar that connect to the frame and the control arm) hang lowering then what the rim itself does... example if i were to get a blow out of some sort on one of the front tires i would be riding on the bolt heads.. witch could lead to loss of control since i do 70 miles a day highway... so i was thinking about taking the strut bar off the control arm and putting it over the ball joint with some solid spacers... or cutting the back bolt hole off and just having the front one bolted on top of the control arm... has anyone ever done anything like this... can this be done or do i just have to deal with it... and i dont want to run a bigger rim... thanks...
what size wheel are you running, 13" or 14"? the best thing to do would be to triangulate the lower control arm and then you can just take off the strut bar. the other thing i would try to do is move the mount to the top of the control arm. but i dont know how well that would work and my stock stuff it long gone to look at for reference.
i am running 15's... i don't want to fab all the work of putting triagle a arms on.. i more leaning towards the modded bar... just seeing if anyone else has done this...
i haven't seen a stock strut in a long time, but aren't they bent at the end near the bolts? if so what about flipping then side to side and putting them on top? my first thought was doing a triangulated arm as well
losing patience with the build I am on my third year anniversary of a (not) body drop!!!!!!!! is anyone in the same boat that you just want your truck back? tired of waiting for it to be done, phase? maybe you can talk me out of just calling this whole thing off!!!....and does anyone know where to find a 93 extended cab, cab? automatic on the column and with or without sunroof. thanks!!!!!!!!!
^---- random but anyway.... yea the strut bar is the one that is bent by the bolt holes.. i cant move it anyway i looked tonight and the stop tab for the spindle is in the way... loooks like i will have to quit bitchin or go with a triangulated arm....
