I got some rust holes in my bed. I have the jap style bed and I got wanna give it up. The rust is around the wells, its about 8 or 10 holes all together. How can I go about repairing them. Sanding smooth and fiberglassing and bonding over them? It doesnt have to be pretty because I want to put some wood down in the bed after i repair it....

    Thanks for the help.

Oh yea can anyone point me in the direction of new latches for my tailgate?

You have a couple options.First and easiest would be a simple bondo job but this will not stop the rust and eventually pop and seperate then be ugly again in a good 6 to 8 months. next would be pretty much the same but with kitty hair which will last longer but again after a while the rust will expand and pop off the patch. This depends on how well you treat the rust. I use a drill with a wire brush and attack the rust and the paint on some rust converter but usually you can only get to one side of the rust. The last and best option would be to cut out the rust leaving only good metal and weld on a new piece of sheet metal then just bondo or kitty hair up the imperfections.just like new.

Cut the damaged areas away & weld in new metal, than finish off with a good body filler( Ever Coat,) short stand, long stand, sandable light weight.
Depending on the amount & type of filling needed!
