been having trouble with my truck, again. when im driving it is great. but when i come to a stop it tries to die. its only died on me once doing this, but pretty much everytime i come to a stop it does this. i get it going by turning the flat head throttle adjuster to increase the fuel mixture. but it seems like i have to adjust it every time i drive my truck. ive read the haynes manual and it says that it could be vacuum lines. there are like 500+ hoses running out of this damn engine. am i going to have to replace everyone of them? could it be something different. i did a tune up in feburary, plugs, wires, distributor, rotor. im wondering if i did gap the plugs right or something. any info would be great. thanks.
    mike.

a vaccum leak you should be able to hear...... check your timing. Does the truck feel sluggish? Since you get it to run better using the fuel mix my guess is timing, o2 sensor (most likely) or the AFM.

If you haven't replaced your vacuum lines yet you might as well.

Is there any stumble on first acceleration? If there is, check your fuel pressure with a pressure gauge.

an easy way to check for a vacuum leak is with the engine running take a can of starting fluid and spray around your vacuum lines and it the engine starts accelerating then you've got a leak where ever you sprayed. But it's not a bad idea to replace your vacuum lines anyway just do them one at a time so you don't get them mixed up.

Ya know, I was having the same exact problem out of mine a few months back. When I turned on the a/c it would idle fine but if I turned it off it would wanna die. It would happen alot when I would first crank it up. If I remember right the pipe going from the air filter box to the intake manifold mine was cracked where the hose clamped onto the intake and it was sucking in air right there. I just bought a cold air intake and it fixed it.

I don't know if it's fixed yet but check the fuel lines for holes. Take off the box and look at the fuel pump and lines running toward the engine.
