I know one person has done it, a rotary (Mazda Wankel) into an older Hilux: Kenny's Rotary powered Toyota truck - YouTube And this is all I have found about it, not even a write up for it.

I just think it would be a fun truck to drive after doing it. Does any one know how much modding is done (for those who have possibly done it before)? If you can find me a link, that would be great, but I have searched and searched and searched, not many results... In fact there are like no results as far as write ups are concerned, just videos. and items for sale.

Although its a unique swap if its a 20b or a single turbo 13b it be fun .lotta cash to play with those setups

Don't think the n/a 13b would be much fun compared to other Toyota swaps considering hp per dollar

Does anyone know how much modding will be needed?

A rotory would be cool, but gas mileage will definitely drop. Even tho these motors are small they suck gas like crazy. Compared to other possible swaps its not that much power for the money you'll spend.

But If what yuu want is a unique truck that get heaps of attention then a rotory will do that.

Not much less than my 22R. I currently get about 20 in the city, my friends who drive rotary powered cars say they get about 17-19 under a heavy foot.

Anyone know which engines would drop of the stock mounts (aside from the 22R(T)E and the 20R)?

I will look into doing it lmce I get a good paying job. Right now my car funds are limited to about 100-200.

I think it would be awesome! I've found some other videos about this idea, but it's all racing, and let me tell you this: these trucks with with the Mazda 13B will overrun anything in their path (until you get to Vipers, Ferraris, etc), as long as the driver knows how to launch and shift correctly.
