Hi friends, I just recently bought a Hilux with a friend of mine, and we're swapping in an 18RG into it. This is my 1st Toyota truck, but I also own a 74 Celica and a 67 Datsun Roadster, so I love old J Tin. As I've been lurking the site, I've noticed that a lot of RN2x Hiluxes have silver grill surrounds, while it seems as if most came from the factory with body colored grills. Is this something that people did for the look? Is there any reason (like a tribute) that people paint them silver? I know that it's common on TE27 Corollas, and was wondering why the hiluxes are like that.
Using Meguiar's products... Claybar the truck, Ultimate Compound the paint to restore color, Ultimate Polish to make her shine and smooth, Your choice of wax to protect it.
Welcome from the 408. Nice looking truck. Glad to see some of the older trucks getting some attention. Rick
