I'm debating on whether to get a '72 or not.... my only concern is the rarity of these trucks.

Im not too worried about power/drive train since later models can swap over. And later model brake upgrades seem easy enough. So, I could keep it on the road no problem, but "what if" keeps bugging me!

What if I come out one morning to find that some jackass side swiped my truck in the middle of the night, how hard is it to find body parts?

What if someone breaks my glass? It seems like windshield's are getting harder to find...

Idk, I love the old hilux's, I'm just debating before dropping money on something I will have trouble daily driving and restoring.

No wucking forries. China still presses the panels so you can get a hold of them. I typed Rn20 in Ebay Australia and got these back. The bonnet comes from near where I live. Dunno about the style side tray. I have a tray back.

no the parts linked are 73-78.

i haven't found any aftermarket metal sold thru u.s. ebay.

i can only imagine how expensive shipping from australia would be. but if they made it here without damage some new metal would be nice lol.

    Reviving this post...

I plan on being a toyota mini fan and owner till I die....

What do you think the chances are of our trucks becoming recognized by the aftermarket and being able to order any restoration part imaginable right out of a catalog, like you can with mustangs and full-size Chevy's, etc.?

The guys in Australia will not ship internationally.
They said it would cost too much at our end, but what is too much?
I wanted to buy one door skin, 2 fenders, both rockers.
Too bad, because they have the good stuff and looks like they have the stamping equiptment for
the parts we need. Sucks! :-(
