I just picked up a 73 RN27 with nothing at all atop the stock carb.

Does anybody have suggestions for a cost-effective replacement air filter housing for my truck? I'm partial to Uni filters on my bikes, but I'll settle for anything effective. I assume finding an OEM housing assembly is unlikely, but if anyone has a serviceable one laying around...

    TIA!

i got a stock housing. would need some sanding and paint.

i'd let it go for $10+ shipping (not trying to make profit, but it's a 20 mile round trip to the ups store, and my truck gets 10mpg)

i can take some pics if you'd like.

I have one too but I plan on using it, it needs to be sanded and painted badly.

    10MPG? You drive a viper?

Thanks Comrade_Charlie and burnzya. Unfortunately my first request for parts help turns out to be a false alarm: I bought this truck sight unseen ; my Dad picked it up for me, and reported the missing air cleaner (so I posted above). Then today he was happy to call me saying he'd found the air cleaner assy under/behind the seat :)

I should have pictures tomorrow; hopefully the drive home won't be too much of an adventure...

    Pics just posted to Gallery.

She made it home just fine, although I had my doubts at moments: I stuck to the slow lane of the interstate the whole way, and although I did actually pass a few vehicles fair and square, mostly I was a traffic obstruction (@60-65 mph!). I think this truck will be an exercise in how minimal I can keep the maintenance while still having a "hasn't stranded me yet" runner.
