Wanted to know if its bad if I remove torsion bars? I cut my bump stops the ones one the LCA half ways. Also what can be bad side of doing so?

So what is handling your suspension right now? Sounds like your bumpstops and shocks are your suspension at this point.

Is there no way to do this "the right way" like with new lowering control arms or re-keying the torsion bars?

Well my shocks are my suspension because the bumpstops are cut half ways so in lik a dip or so it hits them and I wanna lower it more but one key hangs down more than the other thats why I was asking and like I scrape on my drive way with the lower key

I don't recommend it but I love it good fun my truck ain't for going fast and gets stuck all over but who cares I have no torsions and no bump stops they wore out and shock is collapse all the way down I drove it like this for years tucking my 14x7 welds

Its probably not a good idea because you would not have any suspension. Not that you have any right now.

Well, let's put it this way. The torsion bars are your front springs. Modern cars have coil springs and our trucks have torsion bars which are coil spring straightened out. What will hold up the front end of your truck? Since you already trimmed your bump stops, your frame is riding on those stops. The shocks take the rest of absorbing the bumps. You will blow out your shocks sooner or later.

I know that one of your anchor arm hangs lower than the other, so you need to re-key that side.

    Hope this helps :)

1982rn34 how would I rekey it? What is that exactly because I wanna lower it more without having to be hitting the torsion key

TDS909 It sits about less than 25 inches from the ground to the middle point of the fender well whatever the same is on the arch of the fender and I wanted to go low but not to low I just wanted to fix my issue with my torsion key because one is lower than the other one and the height is the same on both? Do you know how to rekey the torsion or reindex them I see that alot on here but dont have a clue on how to do it?

The front or back? What size rim and tires? I had my dads pontiac rims for like a week and I switched him back because he had to big of a tire and the ones that are kine are 17s with low profiles
