So I'm bringing my '80 to my Mother In Law's in a couple weeks. She needs a small truck and it gives me something to drive around in while I'm down there. Since it's a Federal emissions truck (from WA) it doesn't have a Catalytic converter, and would have to be totally redone to be registered in CA. So, I was going to keep it in my name anyway, so can I just leave the WA plates on there since I'm the owner and the one carrying insurance on it? Since I don't live in CA I can't register it there anyway. I'm thinking it's similar to someone who is working in the area for an extended period but actually has a residence in a different state. Anybody know? I figure it's not an issue because it's who owns it, not where it's parked. I do know that CA is a bit weird as far as that though.
Meh ..... yes and no.... if they are on the same beat and the truck is always around and bringing attention to it self....... then YES they will say something but otherwise NO they dont hate all to much \
LOL that's funny the guy from Campbell is the guy that replies... my Mother In Law lives in Campbell....
Theres a bunch of cars here in town that have out of state plates. If u get pulledbover just say youre visiting
keep it reg'd in your name... means you will hafta bring it back up every couple of years for inspection if it gets it still, otherwise unless its a problem none should say anything.
