Rebuilding 22R

    OK so i am getting ready to order all my parts has anyone used full kits from http://www.engnbldr.com/ ? do they sell really good kits? or so/so i am going with the OS SS valves and the rebuild kit with the 270/430 RV cam.. i already have a 32/36 Weber on it and 2 1/2 exhaust from stock manifold back and will get a header and 5speed with a Zoom clutch put in possibly next month but before summer is up for sure

    the RV cam they sell is very very very mild...... like, just enough difference to not be stock. if you are looking to get a "butt dyno" difference you'll need a stage 2 or higher performance cam.

    i put a pro-street cam in my 4Runner 22re and felt a good difference. especially at 2500 up to around 5000rpm's. if i was to get a cam for my 22R, i would go with LCE's pro-street performer cam. something that'll definately have some "bite" to it. i have heard of people using engnblder's stuff and had great results but never hear of any long-term results. im sure they sell a fairly good kit to rebuild your motor. i would just research what type of parts they include, as well as what specifically they include.

    the OS/SS valves are a good improvement....... make sure to balance and support your upgrades. you will notice a big difference if you do so.

    i know they do custom grinds also... were already porting the head and balancing we were going to do a 20/22r but decided against it

    ok i just ordered my kit from engbldr.com with +.030 over pistons with the 270/430 cam, RV valve springs, over size stainless steel valves, & new water pump. cant wait to get it done should get it tomorrow or the next day and will be going to my dads shop Wednesday or Thursday to build it this weekend wish me luck :D
