I did search on here and havent found a solid answer......what needs to be used do the rear disk conversion?
Is there a bracket that will bolt up? or will it have to be made? anybody have dimensions? what caliper can be used? what about the e-brake?
Thank you for your help in advance

89 Regular Cab. The weirdo with the stock suspension.
Or you could do like I'm planning and install an 8.8:

Large disk brakes, a strong diff, easy conversion and Explorers are everywhere, so all the parts are almost certainly going to be at your local u-pull-it junk yard. Another thing is that there is a HUGE aftermarket sway bar available for it. Just my two cents.

I've done both the front brake up grade ,& rear conversion on my 88. .
And I've posted all for others!
A complete rear axle swap is another way to go ,but you must consider axle withe, drive line connections ( from one make to another), lug patterns.
Plan out what you want to do & what you are trying to achieve ! All add to your cost!!

i did a rear disk swap using 87 toyota supra turbo rotors and calipers. i fabricated caliper stands out of some 2"x 1/4 steel. i machined the rotor bore roughly 6mm to fit my axle.

That rotor looks to be around 8-9'', still is too small !
    Front I went from stock 9.25'' to 12.19'' & rear is 11.32''!

that rotor only looks small in the 20's

stock supra rear measures 291mm which is 11.45". if it'll stop a turbo'd supra it'll stop a minitruck. especially if it's a 4 cylinder powering it.

also if i used mostly stock components the whole swap would have been around $80. doing the a/n fittings cost a bit more.

Actually, I just have some questions if you don't mind answering them. But first let me see if I can figure it out. It looks like you started with two pieces and then you lap welded them. You picked 2"X1/4" because it gave you the perfect width to mount to the the caliper to the axle. You started by making a template, maybe... So is this on your stock axle? No swapping axles or cutting rear diff? Do you think that piece you fabbed up will work on the 89-95? I mean I know the process will work but can I use the same materials of do you think I would have to use different size steel?

For someone who likes to misinterpret a so called "negative" comment, you sure are lousy at actually answering some questions. Oops, sorry! That was negative huh? Don't worry, while you busy wasting your time on that reply, I figured it out.

Rear calipers are 79-85 Caddy with e- brake, rotors are 1984 Ford Mustang SVO( SAME CENTER BORE & LUG PATTERN)., the caliper brackets I made ,as no one has them for Ford rotors, & the GM ones( lots out there) the rotors are a smaller center bore ,so machining is need! So when replacement is needed , a extra cost!
I posted all the info ,part numbers included, on this site !
