Trying to find new rear brake shoes for my 82 SR5 4x4, Toyota says they are discontinued, all of the auto part places say they can’t get them unless it is a cab and chassis truck. I know they all were shipped from Japan as cab and chassis, and the beds were put on here. Is this what the computers are saying? Surprised at what little aftermarket offerings are for these trucks too. The used to be extremely popular. Are they that few left in the states?

Cab and chassis is usually 2WD. Different setup from the 4WD. All trucks of this era sold as c&c will have RN28 before the serial number.

Hopped on AutoZone right now, store a block away from me has 2 different types:
    1/2 Tons - 10" x 1.99" brakes
    Cab and Chassis - 10" x 2.21" brakes
Don't know if this applies to wherever you might live but there are still some apparently.

If you have the factory part number, google it and see if any interchange numbers come up.
