rear axle compatibles?

    Im in da market tobuy a spare rear axle for my 93 2wd. In less than a day after i posted a wanted for one i got over 6 calls from guys with em for sale( goes to show how bad the local econmy is). Was wondering if 84-88 4cyl. rears are compatible in gearing to the 89-94 style. And does the gearing differ between trucks with 4spd and 5spd trannys for the rears? I had a link before to a gearing chart for our trucks but i cant find it anymore.

    gearing may be different, see what axle code it is too, and the 84-88's may be an inch narrower
