I've been searching online for a rear diff bearing overhaul kit. It's for my 92 p/u standard cab 7.5" carrier. The rear diff makes a loud hummmmmm sound while driving.

I seem to keep coming across different terminology on different web sites.
So far this is what I may be going with

    http://www.rjroffroad.com/genuine-g...for-toyota-differential-offroad-pr-16604.html

I am going to be re-using the factory ring and pinion.
What do you guys think? Could you recommend any other sites? Will an install kit include all the parts needed to replace all the rear end bearings?

    Thanks!

Ended up ordering the kit listed above. Called their cusomer service to verify its what I need. Now I'm thinking about regearing just for to make the yota a little funner to drive. I know I will be sacrificing gas milage, but this is not my daily driver.

I have in mind going with something like 3.73 gears but can't find these gears anywhere for this truck. The only thing available are offroad gears starting at 4.10 gears and lower from there. I'm running 245/45/17 tires, do you guys think 4.10 would be overkill?

I got a used 3rd member out of a previa to get my 3.73s. The highest I could find aftermarket was 4.10. I think I got it from http://www.grahamsauto.com/

My understanding is only the carrier can be switched into our trucks. Please, tell me I'm wrong and the whole unit can be switched.
