I know that there are some of us out there running these early Toyota truck with gnarly tires, wood beds, roll bar or simply raised sky high? And being located in the boonies of Vermont having a truck that can get down the dirt roads with a load in the bed during “mud season” is a bit more useful that having a cool look lowered rig. No real need for 4wd unless you want to really get out there, so lets see some picture of some rugged 2wd pickups. Or we can all aspire to be a Roadless 109
I had a think about doing this with mine, a set of Sunraysia rims, chunkier tyres, and a standard or slightly raised ride height. Instead I'm running with a relatively standard ride height & going for the 'original' look. Maybe a drop of 2" or so, just enough to stop it looking like it's going to blow over in the wind.
IF I had a 2WD long travel front suspension, widened a bit in the front and rear, body and running gear wise. 3"BL. give her some 29x12's and that'd make a snarly 2WD offroad vehicle
