Well, I've been looking for one of these sweet trucks for a very long time. A few deals have fallen through over the last 2 years, and I thought I'd have to settle for a long bed if I ever got one. Here it is in all it's Idaho glory! IMG_7330 by quinnjamin posted Jan 29, 2021 at 8:25 PM When it came up for sale I had my cousin go and check it out for me. Mechanically it seems pretty solid. It's a 22r with a 5 speed, and AC! Only things we can find wrong with it so far is it likes to pop out of 5th gear when accelerating, and I think a previous owner welded the diff. I've already got a few parts ordered, with some others coming soon.
I'll be asking for help, opinions, and posting build updates on a lil project thread. Thanks for welcoming me to toyotaminis!!
"Settle for a longbed"??? Whaaat? Insults! LOL j/k. I have a longbed but I agree; I think shortbeds look better. Better cab/bed proportions. OTOH, there have been times when having the longbed worked out better for hauling stuff, like motorcycles. I bought mine at an end-of-model-year sale at the dealer and all the shortbeds were sold out so not much choice... Welcome!
Oof. I guess it's not the best idea to insult the long bed brigade on my first post!! my apologies. I can see how they'd be much more useful.
