So I finally scored a pair of genuine toyota fenders off a 94 2wd 4runner. Now to pick corners. My grill/bumper/valance etc is all 89 2wd pickup. I plan on eventually swapping to 4wd pickup later on as I find it all. For the corners I would then go with 4wd corners because the connection is different for the runner grill and pickup grill right?

I noticed someone selling 4x4 corners but has it listed as 89-91. I know in 92 they did the face lift on the trucks and runners... so is everything in these years still interchangeable? If not would I get 89-91 4x4 corners to mate with my 2wd grill or 92-95 corners to match with my 94 4runner fenders? I figured it would all be the same 89-95 as long as I get 4x4 corners to match with my either 2wd or 4wd grill or 89-95 runner corners if I am going that way.

Thanks for the help... want to slap these on asap.

All the the 89-95 4wd corners are the same...the 89-91 4wd trucks had different grills & bumpers then the 92-95, but all the corners are the same. As for any problems with the 2wd grill then your good too cause the corners will fit fine.

Right on guys... I am debating on clear or not. I want them like everyone else but I like to play on the safe side and heard the ticket can be pretty hefty if the cops want to be pricks. I picked up my fenders for $100 genuine toyota and think I might pick up a pair of oem 4x4 corners for 40 bucks a set. The ebay shipping and the fact I want them now holding me back from the clears a little too. The continental US likes to hammer us folk here in Hawaii with shipping.

I promise I will post pics of my truck soon as promised.

Yeah I know but with those companies have to always read the small print. 9 out of 10 times there is a small note in the shipping that says to contact them for shipping rates to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico etc. Shipping for 48 states blah blah.

I picked up a pair of OEM corners. Going to slap the fenders and corners on tomorrow and in the future maybe after paint will probably pick up some clears. I almost bought the whole 4runner front minus the corners, however, I don't care for the plastic valance (94), the V6 logo on the grill(22re here), and the bumper had a small but rusty (barely noticeable) scrape on the bottom corner. I figured unless I really liked everything about it no sense buy it... would have cost me 350 for all as opposed to the 100 I spent on just the fenders. My 2wd grill and bumper is cherry any how. The fenders is the hardest to find here... later on I might just go with after market 4x4 stuff or wait for more genuine stuff. Pictures to come tomorrow if the weather is nice I promise!

    Take it easy guys

sounds good, i didnt like the valance either so i got a chrome 2wd bumper doesnt sit as flush but trimming the inner line can solve that... but to each his own and i kno ur ride will look sick

Did you get the liners for the inside of the fenders? I did not. Figured I would wait and see if I wanted them and can always go back to the guy I bought the fenders from... I just got the outer shell.

Okay I swapped the fenders primed them up real quick and slapped everything back together. Was kind of a pain and the ass trying to find all the bolts at first and wrestling the inner liner but once I figured out that I had to only drop the bumper a little I swapped the other side rather quickly. I think I am going to try and get a pair of 4x4 inner fender liners... hopefully I don't have to pull the fenders off to instal them other wise I won't even put them on.

Not that this is all done I will post some pics in the build thread section tomorrow night if the weather is okay and I find my camera. Thanks for all the help guys.

im tellin u the fender liners arent even worth it. but i gotta get new bolts cuz i went to readjust my fenders, make them sit more flush, some are stripped, 1 bolt snapped so i gotta get in there and twist it out with pliers haha... FML!!!

Bolts for the fenders stripped? They must have been cranked down really tight or you were using the wrong size tool! As for the liners... yeah I would rather not bother but seeing back in that cavity is bothering me as well as the fact I have actuators for my keyless entry in my doors and the wire running from the cab in the doors can be seen... makes me wonder what some dick could do if he saw that... rather have things looking all sealed and tidy. I recon having the liners off wouldn't offer you too much clearance any how. Going to see if the guy I bought the fenders off of still has them... if not I won't worry about it. Now just can't wait for my rims to come in.
