Just wondering... are the 2wd beds and 4wd beds from 89-95 toyota trucks all the same? I do not mean bed length but more in terms of fender flare etc? Thanks in advance
I believe so. These trucks are mass produce, so the more similar the parts, the more money the parent company can save. There may be some differences, because the 4x4 and fleetside beds on my year are more flared out, so if anything they could be wider, but I'm not sure.
yes they are very different. 84-87 was differant then 88-94 and then 95 was tacoma I believe. Hope this helps
I would also like to add that you can bolt up a 88-94 style bed to a 79-83 toyota pickup without any problems.
Thanks for the input guys. Just to clarify... I know the body styles from 84-88 is different from 89-95... and then 95.5 - ?? is different. My question is more specific to the 89-95 era (all same body style). I was wondering if there is a difference in flaring of the rear fenders between the 2wd 89-95 bed and the 4wd 89-95 bed. I know the front fenders bumper corners grills and valance are different... I plan on doing a 2wd to 4wd front clip swap which is why I am curious about the rear fenders... I suppose I just need to take notice next time I come across a 4wd. Any further input is appreciated. Thanks
look at ym build thread i have a 2wd truck with 4wd fenders on there. post a reply if u need more pics or anything
from what ive seen, the 2wd and 4wd 89-95 model beds were the same. no fender flare differences in them. only flare difference they had was in the front fenders. also, the 4x4' trucks and 4Runners had corner lights that teared up instead of down like the 2wd trucks. they stopped the initial flares and non-flared beds in 87....... the 87 and 88 model trucks (2wd and 4wd) all received "4x4" bed sides to cut production costs of making different beds.
My 87 came with a jap bed. Dunno if its special or not but its the el stripo model 2wd 4speed no ac,ps,liter, clock, not even a radio.
