a few years ago i bought a toyota and was going to build it, cuz i couldnt get the truck truck i really wanted, but it got put on the back burner, to the point where i just sold it and doubled my money on it and it was shipped to Ethiopia

    heres my intro thread
    http://www.toyotaminis.com/forum/introduce-yourself-3/canadian-newb-4857/

the truck i really wanted went up for sale again and i jumped on it, i overpaid for something that was in rough shape but it was the story behind it is why i really wanted it

    so lets start the timeline

1992-2000 when my uncle owned it
    [IMG]

2000-2003 when my friend owned it
    static dropped

    bagged and painted
    [IMG]

then it went downhill from there, it was sold to a snake bastard who was supposedly a friend of ours who bailed my friend out of debt and was told he would sell it back once he had the money again, well that was a lie, he then repainted the truck, pulled all the interior out, blew the motor and replaced it.
it was then sold to another friend and sat in the garage until last summer

    i got it like this
    [IMG]

no interior. just headliner and ****ty APC seats and thats it

i am now working on it slowly, ive done most of the interior still need to source out some parts

    carpet before:

    and after:

    new dash, not fully finished
    [IMG]

    and more interior
    [IMG]

thats it for pictures right now

truck still needs a lot of work

plans are to rebag it front and rear, new link setup, and radiator before i drive it

i'll keep updating as the slow process goes

Wow that truck has history. Transformed a lot. It looked nice in original blue and baby blue with the drops. I had those same kruz 20s you have. Just sold them on Tuesday. I'll keep looking here for progress. Good luck.

    thanks!
yes the truck does have a lot of history, which is why i wanted it, the day i brought it home i informed my cousin and my friend who did most of the work to it that i bought it and they came over right away to say hello to an old friend.
the only person who wasnt happy about it was my wife, i didnt tell her i was buying it, i already had 3 mazdas, which 2 of them were in the driveway and the other is all torn apart in my garage, my brother-in-law thought it would be funny video record her reaction when she got home and the toyota mysteriously showed up, she's ok with it now
i do want to repaint it the same blue it used to be, but thats not until everything else is done, the wheels are kruz wheels but 18"s, im not a fan of them but it'll do until i find some i like

That's a thing because you will stay motivated. Lmao you took a chance huh. My girl gets mad sometimes. I spent 5 hours only tuck yesterday. Are the mazdas trucks too? Yeah my paint will be the last thing I do because I don't know if I'm going lower and changing the fenders and bed to 4x4 ones. I didn't know they made them in 18s. Mine would hit with 3 inch blocks

    *quick update*

went to the local pull it yard and raped the only yota they just go in

    what i grabbed:
mass air flow sensor - original was tampered with, didnt trust it
belt tensioner pully and bracket - did have one at all
original windshield moulding - mine was replaced with some rubber moulding
    fan shroud - m.i.a.
    dimmer switch
    sun visors
    cup holder
    sill plates
rear view mirror with dome light
rubber bumpers for the doors and under the hood
    hvac knobs
    main 80 amp fuse
every phillips screw and 10mm bolt i could get out
    washer squirters
and i cant remember what else i got

but that concludes everything i needed that was missing or broken for the truck

i still need seats and seatbelts and i have everything for the interior.

its my o.c.d. to have everything for the interior minus the rear seats, thats stereo space

[IMG]Got anxious after work today. Started mocking up my 4runner front end. Its really the only thing i can do to fix the hacked up rad support after it had a phantom grill. The headlight buckets were welded to the support and had nothing behind it. Unless i wanted to replace the whole thing which i wasn't gonna do. I'll get it all installed and then blow it all apart to smooth out and repair the support
oh! And i scored a lean rear window with plate box n.i.b.

    update

finished installing the 4runner front end
fixed some wiring under the hood
replaced the main fuse that was rigged up to work and added another one to the blank location for the air compressor
replaced the main power wire going from the fusebox to the battery
    and installed more interior parts
