Hey I'm having an issue with my ps. I can hear something, most likely my ps pump, making a sort of rattling noise up front when I'm driving. I was thinking it was the water pump but I have experienced my power steering cut out a couple of times randomly. First of all what do you think it is. Just low fluid? I checked the fluid and maybe I could add a bit more but it's not really really low or anything.
Also, if I wanted to buy a new powersteering pump what would be my best option? These pumps are most likely getting harder to find. I was looking at LCEngineering.com and they have a RAM assist steering pump but it says that it would be too much for my stock power steering system. I am just trying to come up with a 100% permanant fix where I would never have any ps problems ever again. I don't like it when my ps kicks out randomly. What is your opinion?

sounds like pressure is being remotely lost and the pump suddenly gets an air gap or somthin....

do you have any fluid loss? any residual loss? is the reservoir cap on snug?

Yah my reservoir was tilting over so I secured it better. It's funny how valuable power steering is ahaha
