I’m new to the mini trucks but I recently got a 86 hilux and noticed the power steering cap said Toyoda and was wondering why that is.

Original spelling. Look up 'Kiichiro Toyoda'

    The story goes...

Toyoda is the founder's actual name. But, written in katakana, a Japanese "alphabet", it results in 10 brush strokes. Eight is considered good luck in Japan (and other Asian cultures). What people call the "teq" logo is actually to-yo-ta written in Katakana (sorry, not able to show you). The last character, "da" , in the founder's name is "ta" with two extra stokes. So take away the two strokes and you get a total of eight strokes and "Toyota"...
