How much would you all expect to pay to get some small things powder coated aka wheels, calipers/drums/rotors etc.....?

this is what I think is fair.....wheels $100 ea., Calipers/drums/rotors etc $75/pair

Or has anyone had parts coated and for how much?

ive heard 25-50 per rim

 

I know somenplaces that do a set of wheels for 200 total

 

For little stuff I kno east wood company (I think thts what it's called) sells a do it yourself kit tht you spray on and bake it in your oven. Might be something to look at?

 

they do $200 for 4 wheels here.

you will need an old oven. Powdercoated objects release a chemical... bad for food.. lol

 

i would not paint rotors...

 

U CAN powder coat rotors. Just gotta be smart and have the brakes turned just a lil bit to get the PC off the braking surface

 

Paint the rotor hats not the rotors themselves... anyways locals charge a little less than the first post for prices.

but then, when you replace the rotors, you gotta get the new ones PC too huh?
So just leave the Rotors alone, no one really paints them..

 

Pfffft, leave them alone??? bugger that haha, everything MUST be custom, mine will most likely be anodised/zinc coated while its under the show scene and then I'll get them machined to get the coating off the friction surface when it becomes a daily driver

 

PCd rotors would be nice since they wont look all rusty n sh!t

 

the only painted rotors i've seen would be the rotors with separate hats

 

i bought th kit from eastwood... bout an oven off ole craigslist and been powdercoating all kinds of ****... dont have a camera or i would post pics.... its fairly easy to do ... its all in th prep work.. with th oven and kit and an assortment of colors im in it for under 300... and eastwood has a good forum for any ?s you might have... its really alot of fun....

 

thanks for all the input, I'm thinking about getting that kit from eastwood just so I can make anything any color I want haha, And for the rotors I was just talking about the hats themselves

 

Ive got an eastwood kit and an old oven too. Works good. The better you prep the better the results. If you wanna do lots of stuff, dont mind some work and it will fit in an oven this is the way to go.
