A friend of mine is giving me a turbo from a nissan 300zx. My question is how do I run an oil line from the 20R to the turbo? Another question is what type of carb would i need to run with the turbo. I do not want to mess with fuel injection or motor swaps. So please help out a fellow minitrucker.

carbs and turbos dont work to well...

a turbo typically blows through the plenum then fuel is introduced at the last moment b4 entering the head w/efi.

to do this with a carb you would have to figure out a way to seal up the venturis so they could withstand positive pressure (usually there is negative pressure in a carb ie:vacuum). another problem would be to seal up the fuel feed in a carb as they are driven by gravity or vacuum pressure, your fuel pump only fills the float bowl, vacuum and gravity do the rest. with out a proper valve system in the fuel delivery system the pressure created by the turbo would force the gas back into the tank and unfortunately the only way to stop it is to modify the carb internally.

you can buy uber expensive blow through turbo carbs but honestly you will be wasting your money. the only cost effective way to introduce boost to a carb'd eng is to use a supercharger which compresses air and fuel and is typically between the carb and head.

the easiest way to go turbo is to get a 22rte and harness and do a full efi swap (not that big of a deal with a truck). but in my opinion it is a waste of time with any 2xr. the power cap on a 2xr is around 150hp for a resonable amount of money ($2000) to get over that prepare to spend a whole lot of cash to not go very much faster. i think you would be better off biting the bullet and swapping to a newer more powerful engine, and mega squirt to simplify the efi.

you might want to consider going to a performance carb like a sidedraft, it will give you the power boost with bolt on ease.

that free turbo will cost you more money than you can imagine...

Well looks like the free turbo is a no go. My friend has to turn it in as a core charge. So I will just to the norm, cam, carb, header and exhaust. I have a question. Will a Holley 2bbl 350 cfm carb be to much for that motor?

thats about the same as the stock carb, just a lil simpler you dont HAVE to upgrade the cam. its also the same as the weber 32/36. if you steped up to a weber 38 or sidedraft you WOULD have to upgrade the cam,ig,exh

the ignition and exhaust upgrades are are good idea for this and future upgrades, added intake flow doesnt do much unless you can burn and evacuate the extra flow.

u dont have to run a cam with a 38 weber, i didnt run one.. but i did have a header, stock intake manifold and upgraded ignition though....and yes if u run a sidedraft u have to have alot of stuff dont to it to make it run right..

    turbo.. propane

you could go propane to go turbo.. get nice high octane fuel.. as long as your not somewhere with emission nazi's like CA...

that's my plan as soon as i can do some side jobs to pay for it.. and convince my wife that the 2wd toyota addition is more then Just a DD :D

    www.gotpropane.com has the kits.. 900ish?
