does it have the 18r? mine was missing the alternator so i grabbed one from a 20r that was in a 75 celica. the upper bracket isn't right, and i have no idea what the right one looks like.

 

Mine has a 20R check this out if you havent already it may help

quick n easy way to tell the 18r trucks from the 20r trucks...

your grill equals 18r, newer "open mouth" grill equals 20r. 20r's started in '75.


i was able to bolt my 18r alt (with 18r upper bracket) to a 20r. let me see if i can find a pic...


score one for the home team, 18r alt n upper bracket on a 20r. i would assume a 20r upper bracket with a 20r alt would fit on a 18r.
